Tragedy Near Southport Ends in Shotgun Death
Frank A. Murray, 49, a well known farmer with a wife and two children, was found dead early Saturday morning three miles west of Southport. A shotgun lay nearby with a spent shell, and a glove on the left hand suggested he attempted to lock the door as the gun fired. The body was discovered in a partly built new house he was working on. Deputy Coroner E A Gentle investigated and noted Murray’s routine of breakfast away from home. The motive remains unclear as investigators search for whether the gun discharged accidentally or otherwise.
