Leap to death from Morris Street Bridge into White River
Fred Bruening aged 30 jumped from the Stock Yards car on the Morris Street bridge into White River about 8 am Friday and drowned. Believed insane by friends, Bruening had been out of health and out of work. He lived with his mother and had recent unusual behavior. Engleking accompanied him. Bruening leaped from the bridge railing as the car neared center, fell into the river, and was recovered dead. Police recovered the body. an examination noted injuries from the fall and rocks beneath the bridge.
