Unusual horse tale tied to chicken feed prank

Pinoak sh, a truck farmer, tells of a horse in front of a hardware store behaving oddly as if its hooves scratched and a rooster crowing. He blames a green Swede hired to feed stock who mixed chicken food with condition powders, altering Dobbin’s behavior and even his appetite. The anecdote ends with Dobbin failing to roost and a neighbor noting the long journey home.
