In a dramatic courtroom scene Judge McCray shouted at Deputy Alford during a contempt threat. Sheriff Shuttelton arrived as the judge insisted on managing the incident himself and ordered the case held for 2 o'clock while signaling no lecturing from either side.
After a contempt threat, Deputy prosecutor Alford confronted Judge McCray at the door and challenged him to repeat remarks face to face. Onlookers heard Alford say he was not in contempt and only wished to finish his statement about the Singleton matter.
A gas leak ignition ripped through W R Beard residence on Fifteenth Street, injuring three and leaving the two story frame house heavily damaged. Fire officials estimate losses around 8000 as occupants escape unharmed aside from minor injuries. The blast followed a man lighting a match near a gas valve, with walls and ceilings torn and debris scattered.
London dispatches report no major change in the eastern crisis as diplomacy drags on. Turkish commanders contend Thessaly stays under Turkish control while Greek proposals push for an armistice amid stalled negotiations.
David Murray arrested at his Buckeye home in a complex Ohio swindling case. The private detective Norris led a probe and framed accusations as Murray denied all charges. Murray, in Indianapolis, faces a $5900 bond as witnesses from Ohio are sought for Thursday’s continuing hearing.
A member, Robert T. Roberts, filed in superior court for a receiver and $1,000 to wind up an allegedly insolvent savings association. Senator Hilison from Fort Wayne and James Henry, treasurer of Broad Ripple electric road, were cited in discussions of possible favoritism. Henry denies secrecy, saying bids were openly reviewed and plans requested to save costs.

Harry Garrett was struck and killed by a Vandalia train near Ben Davis on Thursday. His body was mangled and transported to Blanchard's morgue in Indianapolis for formal identification.

A frame dwelling at 85 Beech Street owned by P E Philips and the rear stable were badly damaged by fire around 4 AM Thursday. The stable burned completely, destroying three horses two mules and a cow for an estimated loss of 80. The blaze origin is unknown. Earlier on Wednesday night a Big Four box car near the Massachusetts Avenue crossing was set on fire and severely singed before firefighters arrived.
William E. Seeach sues the Order of Lincoln for 550 dollars alleging payment for securing members. Gabe Jones was tried before Magistrate Nickerson on obstructing legal process charges and acquitted after interfering with constables healing James Burgan.
