Prisoner Wood Trial Revels Aide From Real Witness

In Somerville New Jersey on May 18 Prosecutor Rogers announced that one of the three supposed influences cited by George JH Wood in the killing of grocer Williams of Plainfield is a real person who may testify in rebuttal. The man is civil engineer Frank D Mack who met Wood in Long Branch while he built a house. Mack was located days after Wood's arrest. Rogers said the tale is credible and contradicts Wood's story. Mrs Wood testified the Mack named is not Franklin Mack. Williams's widow listened as experts testified Wood was insane and medical men followed the case as Wood described driving Williams to a New Jersey town months ago, a detail tied to the fatal ending.
