Beef Trust Fight Booksellers Congress Read By Members
Washington May 15. Twenty Years In Hell With the Beef Trust is a 300 page paper bound volume just received by members of Congress. Rhody R. Shiel of Indianapolis printed it. Shiel is a major livestock dealer who has battled the beef trust. He cites cases of underweighing stock, tracing 10 hogs from Illinois to Boston where 23 hogs were replaced by smaller pigs. The scheme, he argues, preserves head counts while reducing weight.
