Indiana Civil War Flags Parade at State Monument Dedication

Old battle flags from Indiana regiments were removed from the state museum for a final ceremonial procession to the monument where dedication ceremonies began. Gov Durbin and Gen Wallace led speakers praising Indiana’s Civil War heroes, with Maj Menzies announcing the monument’s completion as a civic shrine.

Big Parade Through Indianapolis Honors Veterans

The Thursday parade in Indianapolis drew vast crowds as Gov. Durbin led the line with staff and Indiana National Guard. The Indianapolis Gas Company will retire from the natural gas business within months and focus on building a large artificial gas operation. Consumers’ Gas will stay in the field but rely on Indianapolis sources until its wells exhaust. Nose severed in city street car collision

Camille Many, 82, was struck by a Prospect street car at Virginia avenue and New Jersey street Thursday about 10 am. His nose was torn off and he was taken to City Hospital where doctors fear he may die from blood loss and shock due to his age.
