The Sun unveils its new Walter Scott press, replacing the old Hoe & Co. machine. The luxury printing unit prints up to 16 000 four page papers per hour and 10 000 eight page copies. The old press served The Sun for years and aided its rise before being retired to make way for progress.

Man from Columbia Dies After Suspected Morphia Self Harm

Early Saturday morning at the Friendly Inn on Market Street, George E. Miller, 23, was found unconscious by Deputy Eisenheiss and died at 11:50. Miller, recently arrived from Columbia, C, appeared melancholic and the coroner suspects morphine was used with suicidal intent. He had an odd appearance, suggesting recent illness.
