A midnight tornado devastates Marquette Kansas killing many as residents sleep. Two churches crushed and homes wiped out. animals perished. rescue work hampered by communication outages as aid pours in from surrounding areas.
Ex-President W T Frlridge of the Gane Belt Jet road clashed with Edward Calhow aboard an Aransas passenger train Tuesday. Calhow was killed in the gunfight linked to a long running railroad feud. Eldridge, once road president, had previously killed director William Dunovant, triggering further retaliatory violence.
At a rail telegraphers’ meeting in Buffalo, 230 delegates faced tension as a delegate demanded another be expelled over a report about a detective agency hired by the railroad. The accused was not publicly named. the hall’s uproar was brief and the action left the individual unnamed. Also noted is the probate of Thomas Maskin’s will, leaving $24,000 to relatives of the Sisters of Visitation.
Royal Marier was arrested Tuesday by Deputy U S Marshal Bord for conspiring to bring lottery tickets into the state. He appeared before the federal grand jury and was released on bond set at $1.00. Hammer is charged with violating federal lottery laws.
A workman on the top of a ten story Browne Kepham Co building fell and broke his nose after his footing slipped. Fellow employees and the company camp office rushed to assist as the injured man, covered in blood, was taken to the dispensary ambulance. He remained conscious though severely injured as onlookers pressed around.
Mrs Siegel of Madison fell while asleep during a sleepwalking episode at her home. She reportedly walked downstairs and was seriously injured about the head around 2 a.m. Monday. She lost most teeth, suffered facial injuries, and was found by Dr Tran in a serious condition.
Mrs Susan Snoddy of Mountain County claims she was misled by J Eichmeier and James Killen of the South Western Oil Refining Co of Los Angeles into buying stock tied to an endowment policy. She seeks the return of stock certificates and 1000 damages after alleging the company’s assets were vastly overvalued and the firm had no refinery. The case was heard before Superior Court Judge McManter.

A Dig Four engine and Detroit Southern engine collided at a junction near Bagma where the Southern engine left the track and toppled into a ditch. Engineer Arthur Staffer was killed instantly, fireman Charles Bytes escaped injury, and the other crew members were not hurt. The mishap occurred as the engines approached the junction from separate routes.
The South St. Baptist church faces internal strife as deacons demand Rev. LD Bass explain his link to a Washington City alleged get-rich-quick scheme. The congregation is split, with factions debating whether Bass should remain pastor amid ongoing government inquiries and recent church turmoil.
