A brutal murder occurred at the home of Catholic priest Rather Reichian in Lorain. Reichian was away. his sister, a housekeeper, was killed overnight. A priest nearby heard a cry, confronted a intruder, who fled after a scuffle. The victim's skull was crushed, valuables left untouched.
In Lafayette Indiana May 1 18 the Tippecanoe circuit court opened hearings on Frederick Chase petitioning for guardianship of his son Moses Fowler Chase a man ill in St Elizabeths hospital. Attorneys argued jurisdiction and the guardianship while the patient babbles at nothing. Both sides indicated the case would continue with expert testimony to determine necessary guardianship.
