Terrible gale sinks tug. deck hand drowned near Red Hook
New York dispatch reports the tug Mary A. Packer sunk in the bay off Red Hook during a severe March gale. Deck hand James Kelly drowned while the rest of the ten crew were rescued by a passing tug.
