A powerful cyclone blasted Birmingham and outlying towns on March 26, wrecking more than 900 buildings and leaving 20 dead, 6 fatally injured, 100+ crippled, and about 1,500 homeless. St. Vincent's Hospital, Pratt City, Irondale, and other districts suffered extensive damage.
A tornado and accompanying rain and hail struck Mishawaka on Monday afternoon, demolishing several buildings. Contractor John Hiss died, and William Minch and Wess Suder suffered serious injuries. Mrs. R. Miller and Mrs. Noah Tripp were fatally hurt in related damage across Adamsville Pavilion Vicksburg and Scott's Station.
A large barn owned by Dr. Talbot in Wayne township collapsed in a windstorm. Three cows died in the incident. Snyder's mill near Waynetown was unroofed and many barns suffered damage.
In Buena Vista a mixed train derailed after an engine and two coaches were blown off the tracks. Four people injured, and several houses toppled. A baptist church at Cussota collapsed. Telegraph operator W M English was knocked unconscious by lightning. A negro schoolhouse at Kingston was struck. two children were killed.
A severe blizzard blankets Colorado halting passenger trains as heavy snow falls on Colorado Springs and Denver area routes. Snow disrupts travel with stalled services and travel advisories issued for regional lines.
A historic blizzard from 1890 era grips the town with deep drifts and blocked roads. Many residents perish as snow covers houses and all trains are halted, trapping travelers and local activity. Eight passenger trains remain blocked in the area.

John D. Brosnan opened a spacious ladies apparel store at 48 45 S Illinois street in Indianapolis. The two story cloak and suit house features green decor oak furniture velvet carpets and an in house tailor department for made to order suits. Brosnan, a well known dry goods merchant, has run his business for 15 years and will offer only high grade goods.
In Bradford Pennsylvania on March 26 Tomasso Demoro was pronounced dead after a typhoid fever episode and placed in a coffin. The undertaker prepared to seal the coffin when Demoro revived and questioned the burial. He survived the incident and recovered.
Evansville dispatch notes Mrs Lou Richardson wed Frank Co Lory of Petersburg after his Klondike fortune. Lory rose from tinsmith’s son to Dawson City riches now valued around 1 million dollars and vows to reach 100 million by age 40. The bride, widow Lou Harris Richardson, met Lory post her first husband Merchel Richardson’s death. They tour Danville before returning to Alaska.
The appellate court now operates in two divisions under the new law and issued six opinions on Tuesday. The supreme court ruled on the election contest between George Tombaugh and Benjamin Gregg for Perry township trustee in Miami County, each receiving 185 votes in 1894. Two ballots were discarded. one admitted in Fulton county circuit court showed a faint second stamp impression, deemed unintentional. The Tombaugh seat remains vacant as the term has expired.
