Daytona Florida March 22 The eighth annual Daytona beach speed carnival began at 10 am with five races carded including world championships. Oldfield Christy Robertson Kersch er David Bruce Brown and 20 others fielded cars. In the first event southern ten mile championship Hotchkiss won with Pope Hartford Bond second. Time 9.27 and one tenth seconds. In the second event 20 miles free for all stock chassis Oldfield won in a Knox with Motchkiss second and Ormsdorff third. Time 18.4.

John McNulty, a saloon keeper on N Delaware across from the city market, was arrested for selling liquor to a minor. A 16 year old boy was found intoxicated at Market and Pennsylvania with a companion, unable to name the seller until the police took him to the saloon. McNulty will be tried in police court March 25.

Engineer Survives as Bridge Catches Fire After Wreck
In Des Moines Iowa on March 22 a southbound Minneapolis and St. Louis passenger train from Omaha wrecked between St Dodze and Humboldt. The engineer and fireman leaped after seeing a bridge on fire.
