Horrific blaze rips through a building as flames roar from the roof into a fiery furnace. Seven firemen perish in the collapse, with many others injured. the tragedy centers on a crumbling roof and a collapsing structure that sent men to their deaths.
A deadly blaze at the Bowen Merrill building traps firefighters as the roof collapses at 5:15 PM. Fireman F Leach and foreman William Breasner are among the victims, with many others missing or gravely injured as flames consume the upper floors.
