A westbound Pennsylvania train No 23 narrowly escaped a wreck at Greensfork nine miles west of Richmond Indiana. The rear coach trucks jumped rails and rode on ties to a bridge with guard rails preventing a fall. After crossing the bridge the rear coach skidded 300 feet up a gravel embankment before stopping. Passengers, shaken, praised their survival as wreck crews worked to restore the car. The Greensfork roadbed suffered extensive damage.
