The funeral of Henry Russe, manager of Deaconess Hospital, is set for Saturday. Services will be at 1:30 at the residence 531 N California Street and at 2 at Zion Evangelical Church conducted by Rev. J C Peters. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Moyton’s quarterly figures show 374 applicants in October securing work, 134. November 86. December 9 placed from 377 to 482 applications. In Pana Illinois three freight trains collided head on in dense fog on the Illinois Central line. Three men died Bert Kubert Otavia Minn and Bert Uhl Otavia Minn and J A Easley Clinton Ill was injured. Edwin Kubert brother of Bert was badly hurt and expected to die.
John Randolph 26 was instantly killed at Citizens' Gas plant Prospect street and Belt railroad at 3 am Thursday. He was run over by a coal train and his head was severed from his body. Unmarried and a pipe cleaner by trade, he lived in Norwood.
London March 3 Charles Warren Fairbanks former vice president was granted an audience with the king at Buckingham Palace. Ambassador Reid introduced Fairbanks who spoke with the king for a short time before departing.

In circuit court, William B. King against Kingan Company Limited, the jury returned a verdict for the plaintiff awarding damages of 7640 dollars. Andrew Shelly was identified by Louis Smith as the man who shot him on Wednesday. Smith, recovering at Deaconets hospital, told detectives he would affidavit to Shelly’s guilt if needed, while Shelly is kept under observation for final identification. Smith’s earlier shooting near 92 Meridian Street is linked to the same case, with doctors optimistic about recovery.

In Richmond Indiana on March 3 a white haired husband Wesley Martin and his crippled wife sat in the city jail sobbing as they recalled their fiftieth wedding anniversary behind bars. The couple were arrested after his intoxication leading to a breakdown of their wagon and boat repaired by township funds. They were later released to leave town together despite the stormy anniversary.
