A Democratic delegation left Chicago at 7 30 a m Friday and will reach the city about 4 p m. No organized reception or blow out is planned and Saturday may be used for ratification. Tom Tagrart stays in Chicago until Sunday while James Rice refuses comment. President Murphy arrives home in the early hours and seems unhappy though convinced the convention did the wisest thing, with Gray noted as a sore spot.
A 2-year-old Bettie Montgomery using the alias Mary Hardman died when she plunged from a fourth floor window at the Galt House in Cincinnati at about 3 am. Authorities say she had recently been staying there and faced possible dismissal after being found with A L Dolson of Barlow's minstrels in her room.
