Andrew Deiss killed his 16 year old wife Nellie Deiss and wounded her mother Nellie Durand after slashing her throat and attempting murder in their Washington Street apartment. Deiss died in a stairway collapse after police arrested him. a four ounce bottle of carbolic acid and a bloody razor were found in the room.
