London reports Annie Spyer known as Mrs Dyer was executed at Newgate Prison for murdering an illegitimate child of a barmaid. She had earlier faced multiple infant deaths linked to her care, with seven other infant bodies found in the Thames river. Crowds gathered as the black flag signaled her death.
Senator Tillman of South Carolina failed to win support in an Indianapolis stop after a Columbus speech Tuesday night. Citizens called it bitter and poorly received, with Tillman denouncing Cleveland and former Congressman Cooper. The crowd remained large but silent as gold standard supporters claimed a slight political boost.

June 10. A husband, James Triplett, came home to find his wife in a room with Henry Schooley. He smashed a chair, struck his wife, and fired twice at Schooley as he fled, both shots missing. The wife was hospitalized. Triplett narrowly escaped lunacy as his daughters fear for their safety until his mind steadies.
In Greensfork, nine miles northwest of Richmond, Dr. Charles Wear, a veterinary surgeon, was shot four times Tuesday evening during a quarrel with Edward Wright, who then surrendered to an officer. Wear is badly wounded and may not survive.
The Kokomo telephone and electric manufacturing company was incorporated Wednesday with capital stock of 5000 dollars. The Superior drill company of Ohio began suit in federal court Wednesday against the Kitts manufacturing company of Milton for patent infringement. Taylor, Durbin and Anderson stopped in Indianapolis on the way to the St Louis convention. Ife left for St Louis in the afternoon as a Republican committee candidate. Hlarty went to Chicago Wednesday to attend the national health boards convention and crusade against spitting. Dr Granville O Newton and wife visiting Gov Matthews in Vermillion county from Dana as a potential county representative candidate.
The Walling murder trial faced a sudden halt as Col. Washington fell ill, with Col. Crawford stepping in. Walling, propped in a chair, suffered a severe nervous prostration, his mother beside him, while detectives seek Maggie Carritty who claims Walling did dental work for her before the crime.
The president was presented a pardon petition for Capt J H S Wiborg master of the steamer Horsa recently convicted for involvement in a no filibusterine Cuba expedition. Endorsed by most senators and representatives and by ship owners and papers along the Atlantic coast.
