PERL Ind June 5 SpliJ J C Jones a carpenter was killed by lightning at work on a barn south of the city. Two other men were injured but expected to recover. The Thursday storm was among the worst here, striking barns of Will iam Grizzard and Jona Lee near Denver with contents burned. Six cattle on Benjamin Bonta’s farm were killed. Ninety feet of the Wabash Logana port traction track washed into the Wabash River at Cass where a major wreck occurred two years prior. Wabash railroad tracks washed out in several spots, no wrecks reported. Damage reports continue to come in from across the county.
