Alva Haley died after contact with an exposed electric wire at Laycock & Company Manufacturing Plant on Tenth Street. Authorities investigation underway and plant safety procedures reviewed.
Frank Maharney 40, a traveling salesman for Ed ward Rife, shot himself after a bout with drinking and domestic trouble. Rife found him in his bed after convincing him to return to his home at 1432 E Ohio street. Maharney died later at the county hospital. Alva Haley 32, an electrical engineer, was electrocuted at the Industrial building on Tenth street and the canal while working on a scaffold. He touched a high voltage wire carrying 4100 volts and died instantly before emergency crews could respond. He left a wife and two children on Montcalm street.

The will of Sylvester Hollingsworth filed for probate lists farm land and two Indianapolis properties. Personal property valued at $8,000. Estate designated for widow, children and grandchildren.
The body of Parker Willis will arrive in Indianapolis today and stay at his mother's home on 2037 N. Delaware Street until Sunday. He will then be buried in Crawfordsville. W W Ellis, husband of Willis's former wife, is jailed in Little Rock and will not seek bail now, with Arkansas lawyers planning his defense on insanity grounds related to stress over the child custody ruling.
Mr and Mrs Sherman Mason charged with neglecting their daughter Eva Mason 16 found in an illegal house on North Capitol Avenue. They will hear their fate Saturday when Judge Stubbs pronounces judgement. The mother was revealed to know the house was disreputable. she broke down and wept.
In White Plains on July 30 Harry K Thaw, exhausted from a lengthy cross examination by District Attorney Jerome and questioned by Justice Mills, required help leaving the courtroom. Jerome pressed defenses on Thaw delusions about Stanford White as Thaw faced questions about his sanity and past opinions from alienists.

Attorney Ira W. Eldlmes appeared at the sheriff's office Friday and posted bonds of 59 dollars each for Dora Williams and Edith Allen. Indicted by the grand jury in January on shoplifting charges in Indianapolis department stores. They are said to be in Ohio now.

Anderson Ind July 30 George Waener a barber of St Marie Ill and Mrs Anna Crawford of Anderson were married by Justice Lane. The license lists the bride at 41 and the groom at 31. This marks the bride’s fourth marriage. She is mother of Frank Crawford the balloonist.
John Donley, 28, drank carbolic acid Thursday night then walked from his home on North Blackford Street and was found dead in Military Park. He left a note urging his wife to come before he died as Mra. Donley had sued him for divorce.
