In Sullivan Indiana on July 30 a mob seized Oregon Martow and his sons at the Taymera mines, guarded them, and burned the plant. The entire mine shaft caught fire, causing substantial damage estimated between 25 and 20 000 dollars. The mob then scattered toward Clay County while threats to burn more were reported. The sheriff plans a full inquiry and seeks the guilty parties.
W H Warvel a Bashaw county politician and bachelor lawyer of means registered at the Denison hotel. Mrs Minnie White a New York widow of means arrived with her daughter. They wed with Rev D R Lucas license in hand after a long mail correspondence. They left for North Manchester.

Eighteen inches of water covered floors, flooding extended to a buggy shed, with many residents forced to move. Buck creek and Cicero creek backed the town, affecting rich and poor alike in the worst flood ever known.
A central Ohio storm centered on southern Franklin County caused the overturning of 84 small stables in Grove City where horses were being prepared for races at the fair grounds. No injuries occurred as keepers were at supper. Tomato and corn crops were ruined and a large brick building at Wall and Capital streets collapsed due to softened ground from ongoing rains. no one was harmed.
