Kentucky Mob Lynched Thacker After Nighttime Arrest

In Flemingsburg Kentucky a white prisoner Thacker was dragged from the jail by a mob between 12 and 1 am on Wednesday and hanged from a tree near the courthouse. The mob, believed to number around two dozen, seized lamp lighted rooms and secured keys before executing Thacker, who was said to be intoxicated during the killing. Two weeks prior a failed attempt had occurred as locals debated his extended sentence for a prior killing. The body was later burned and buried after the lynching drew attention from surrounding residents.
