The racing notes mention Shamrock II defeating and Shamrock I losing, with Columbia beating the Independence in foggy conditions as the Constitution was withdrawn. Jockeys Watson and Dade sustained injuries at Newport, and the foreign book has been abandoned there. Wabash and Muncie express interest in an Indianapolis ball club, though sustaining such an expensive franchise seems unlikely.
