Newark lynches detective after jail siege in July riot
A 5000 strong Newark mob seized Carl Etherington, a 20 year old strike breaker and Ohio Anti-Saloon League detective, dragged him from his cell, hanged him in the public square, and set fire to his coat after he claimed self defense against restaurant proprietor William Howard. Thief Uses Buggy Steals From Local Barns
