New York records 355 dead since the heat began. storms bring damage to churches, hotels, homes, and infrastructure. Lightning strikes cause fires and injuries. morgues and hospitals face overcrowding as crews work through the crisis.

He noted Aztec survivals among Mexican tribes as evidence of conservatism.
Senator Fairbanks and Gov. Durbin attended the Sons of veterans encampment in Muncie Indiana on Tuesday night. They left before adjournment and rode private car to Anderson. Fairbanks planned to stay overnight at the governor's residence and then proceed to Winona. The pair's apparent friendliness drew much comment.

Fred W. Martin of Attica Indiana was appointed Wednesday as immigration commissioner for Porto Rico with headquarters in San Juan and a salary of 2500 dollars. Congressmen Landis backed the appointment.
