Death of Laura McDaniel Triggers Arrest of Fletcher and Coyle

Indianapolis physicians Dr Calvin Fletcher and lawyer Thomas Coyle were jailed on charges of causing Laura McDaniel's death after a botched operation. McDaniel, a department store clerk, died of peritonitis at the Marquette block where she and Coyle lived as "Mr. and Mrs Hicks." Coroner Nash ordered further inquiry after Coyle confessed. Fletcher claims he treated McDaniel for female trouble and administered care only as directed, while Coyle allegedly arranged the operation and deception.

Autopsy Reveals Murder in Huff Case at North Indianapolis

William Huff of 2411 Bond Street died after an alleged concussion from a head injury near the Big Four tracks in North Indianapolis. Autopsy showed a normal heart but a large blood clot in the right ventricle, suggesting brain injury as the cause. a coal lump near the body raises the possibility of foul play. His son Ed, 21, found him Monday night and police plan to arrest for murder.

Col Moore in Jail as Wanted Florida City Suspect
