Hundreds file past the casket in the capitol as Ex Gov Simes Mount lies in state. The 1843 1901 leader’s body rests under black canopies with flags and bunting while a royal guard and marching troops oversee the ceremony. Public viewing continues into the afternoon with a church service planned and a Crawfordsville lying in state.
A single floral offering at the Kentucky state house carried a card reading From the ladies of Frankfort Ky. The donors are unknown though presumed to be friends of ex Gov Taylor. Gov Mount had offered refuge from return and trial for alleged murder.
A notice issued to jobbers on Thursday warns of a 20 percent advance in window glass prices. A committee of manufacturers, including the American Plate Glass company, cites years of price wars and gas costs, stating the rise will restore a living price and an increase may occur within 60 days.
In a Friday police court hearing Judge Daly ruled that Mrs Murphy may soar again if proper precautions are used. The colorful aviator appeared in a purple dress with witnesses describing her aerial flights. Her keeper Mr Vaughn was acquitted of cruelty to animals after evidence showed ascents did not injure the monkey. Mrs Murphy announced future ascensions will be on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 1 pm.

Andrew Carnegie pledged funds to Goshen and Aurora libraries. In Goshen Indiana he wires $15,000 toward a public library building, noting Goshen as the smallest city he has aided. In Aurora Illinois he offers $50,000 for a new library with $3,000 yearly maintenance, contingent on the city providing a site and funding.
Commissioner Greer criticizes the county council for withholding $7 000 to fix the Marion county poor asylum. He cites falling plaster and bad plumbing while noting the board lacks power to compel funds. He urges improvements and questions selling the farm despite its value. A separate note reports a minor fire near Virginia and Bradshaw streets with no damage.

Complaint to Officer W A Joyce of the Children's Guardians Society alleged Eddie Inkle five from Jesse Hinkle suffered abuse at Geo and Mary Goether home 28 Asbury Street. Joyce found charges greatly exaggerated and the board will take the case in hand.
The street car company accepts the city attorney Kern’s opinion that it is liable for paving inside the Street car tracks and 18 inches on each side on the Illinois Street bridge. Work is nearly finished.
Charles Frown, an elevator operator at the court house, choked on an apple bite on Friday. Two bicycle policemen on the car nearby nearly pounded his back to dislodge the fruit and he finally coughed it up.
James Whitcomb Riley and O. T. Mason will take part in a memorial service Sunday at DePauw University in Greencastle for the late Dr. Ridpath. Riley will read a poem and Mason will speak on Ridpath as a publicist.

The Senate and House adjourned for funeral attendance in Indianapolis and Crawfordsville while committees and prayers underscored his lifelong public service.
The senate met at 10 a.m. on Friday in memorial session. Senator Binkley chaired the appointed committee and read resolutions adopted amid several eulogistic speeches. The message recalled the governor’s tenure and the brevity of life as he publicly relinquished authority.
In Friday session the House defeated an attempt to approve extra allowances by resolving to not concur in the Senate amendment to the appropriation bill. Speaker Artman warned no extra allowances would be permitted as law fixes compensation. Davis and King spoke against the amendment before the measure failed.

Fort Wayne Republicans in a caucus plan amendments to the city charter. A proposal by Mr. Bell of Randolph County would curb mayoral terms to two and aim to break a long standing Democratic ring. Another measure would shift police commissioners to gubernatorial appointment to favor Republicans. Governor Durbin is said to support both moves.
The county treasurer, working to collect overdue taxes, received two letters Friday. One writer, a Democrat who has always paid, says he will vote for the treasurer again if asked. The other is from a woman in an asylum who warns she must be freed this time or she will not pay taxes.
