A Lively Wind Lifts Through Indianapolis Sunday

A west and southwest wind swept Indianapolis Sunday causing fear and odd sights as porch chairs moved unaided and the city watched the weather with 67 miles per hour noted by the official observer. Temperatures fell from 58 in the afternoon to 20 by Monday morning as the wind howled through the city.

Dismissal Follows Fourth Board Hearing for Officer Curran

The Board of safety dismissed Patrolman Patrick J. Curran after lengthy testimony and prior probes. O. B. Iles accused Curran of peering into a window during a card party while two young women witnessed the incident. Curran admitted striking Iles after Iles cursed him. Curran says the strike was with an open hand after abuse. Silted Again Harry Kokemiller Faces Court Fine

Harry Kokemiller, described as a dangerous figure by Police Judge Cox, was stopped by Patrolmen Gerber and Boylan after being found with two accomplices near W Washington St. He faced charges for carrying a concealed public safety item and resisting an officer, receiving $200 in fines. H N Coffinberry, president of Garrett bank and former county auditor, died of heart disease when sheriff moved to rearrest him for alleged theft of 8000 dollars and embezzlement of 2500. Tragic Accident Claims 6-Year-Old Pansy Milburn

Pansy Milburn aged six was accidentally shot by her brother aged eight while playing in a tent by White River near Smith Valley. The shotgun discharged into her eye. The Milburn family lived near the river on Kentucky Avenue and the coroner Brayton examined the remains Monday.
