Seven Men Drown In Brooklyn Bridge Collapse
New York Jan 13 Seven lives were lost when a temporary foot bridge across Newton creek in Brooklyn collapsed Friday night. About sixty people were dumped into the water as the flimsy structure gave way near the draw on the Kings county side. Seven swam ashore. many were rescued by the tug Clover and a small yacht. Most victims were returning from work at the Laural Bill chemical works.
