Benjamin F. Hickle, a Pana machinist, left home Christmas Day after an argument with his mother-in-law over drinking. He traveled to Indianapolis, wrote of going to New York, then ended his life by taking morphine Tuesday afternoon. His widow, with a three week old baby, learned of the death as the body was sent to Pana.
