Miss Carrie Lynch, 19, died after twelve hours of agony from severe burns when her oil smeared apron caught fire while she cleaned lamps and tended her young niece. Her sister in law, Mrs. Edwin Logsdon, cared for her during the night as neighbors aided. Funeral planned private at Anderson cemetery Sunday morning.

Attorney J O Parker, pursuing Hinshaw's innocence, says new evidence remains, noting recent convictions of Van Tassel and Banes. Gorham, linked to Hicks robbers, reportedly knew details on Hinshaw's murder but passed no names. He allegedly told a prisoner that three men committed the crime and Hinshaw was innocent.

John Taylor colored of 1225 Harlan street was shot at Bert Barnes’ saloon on 1857 Sherbyst. Barnes claims self defense after Taylor threatened him while reaching for a hip pocket. Taylor, treated at City hospital, remains in serious condition. Barnes is in custody without bail. Witnesses corroborate Barnes’ account of events.
A letter from J Rief, colonel commanding the Third Regiment Knights of St John of Indiana, pledges Catholic support for war against Spain.
