William Jennings Bryan addressed the seven tenth general assembly urging lawmakers to fulfill pledges or repudiate their party platform. He warned against shifting conscience and stressed that democracy rests on the people thinking for themselves, not aristocratic rule.
In London two months imprisonment was handed down to suffragists who rioted to press for an interview with Premier Asquith. Among the defendants were Lady Constance Lytton and Daisy Lawrence, the daughters of notable figures, who joined demonstrations and were jailed.

Alfred L. Snell age 52, managing editor of the Oil City Derrick, died at his home after a brief illness. He had served as editor for over 16 years in Oil City, Pennsylvania.

The property was bought in 1858 for 5 cents a front foot and is now valued at more than 1,500 a front foot.
Thomas Atkinson age 80 or 81 died at his daughter's home 59 North Beville Avenue after a lengthy invalid period. He served in the Mexican and Civil Wars and was a member of George H. Thomas Post G A R. The funeral will be held at 2 PM Friday at his daughter's house.
In Pittsburg last night the National show delivered top boxing action as the main event pitted Jack Dalley against a rival for the season. The bout drew strong patronage and showcased the club's best effort to date.

Authorities in Paris and Rome contacted American Express headquarters in New York, but details remain secret.

Col Augustus D. Shaw superintendent of the workhouse and his wife celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at the workhouse home Wednesday evening. Their three children ten grandchildren and many relatives attended. Shaw, 68, once worked for the Big Four and was a friend of President Harrison who appointed him third assistant auditor of the U S treasury. He helped organize the Buckle G A R post and served in the Nineteenth Indiana infantry 1861 63. The couple received several valuable presents.
Lieut Gov F J Hall will attend a taffy pulling party at Miss Edna Quigley’s home 402 N New Jersey street Friday Feb 26 at 3 o’clock. Stenographers and press men are among the honored guests with senators expected to attend. Senator Powers of Steuben supplies maple syrup and wrote the invitation.
