Detectives Petrosini and two Italian assistants report a wealthy Italian banker Frank Maneo was found dead with nine bullet holes in a wooded area near the Field clubhouse Englewood New Jersey. Authorities believe Maneo was lured and killed by four well dressed men for his money.
Flames endanger the Puritan Bedsprings Company plant at 1002 Kentucky Avenue Friday afternoon. Two fire alarms, city engines, and swift crew actions contained the blaze after it spread from the japanning furnace through an elevator shaft to the roof. loss expected to be light.

The girl suffered three chest wounds and a throat cut.
Senator Harlan Kas introduces a bill to form a bi partisan committee inquiry into purchasing a new site for the Indiana Women's Prison. It calls for selling the old site and moving the facility to a suburban or rural location. The bill includes a zero thousand dollar appropriation.
