In Noblesville Indiana February 17 the McDonald will trial ended with a jury verdict for the plaintiffs after a long night deliberation. The jury found the will not executed by McDonald and that Daniels and Snow did not sign it. The case may proceed to higher courts.
In Mapuio on February 17 a surge of noxious fumes overwhelmed miners in the Impen sada lead mines. The panic and haste of the rescue effort followed as 387 men were reported dead from suffocation. The disaster has caused great excitement and underscores lack of adequate safety precautions.
Two freight trains on the Buffalo Rochester Pittsburg line collided two miles south of Springville New York at 4 30 Friday morning. Both engines and about six cars were wrecked. Engineer Herman Wreck of Buffalo the engineer of train 50 was fatally injured. The fireman and engineer of the other train survived by jumping. Two men are declared insane this week: John Williams of Market street attacked his wife with a hatchet, and Thomas Couger, a Cincinnati traveling man, went violently insane at Nickel Plate saloon near Union Station.
