New York February 1. One door opens to a one act drama titled A Case of Arson at Madison Square Theater. Henri De Vries plays seven distinct roles showing a range from a hard businessman to a timid youth. The cast includes three actors and a scene of a magistrate questioning witnesses. The arson case centers on John Arend, a cigar manufacturer, his three year old daughter burned in a factory fire, and a mystery involving his allegedly reticent brother. De Vries portrays a clouded intellect, a factory owner, and other witnesses with vivid contrasts. The performance also features a persuasive old father in law and a dignified police officer.
