Sim Coy Dies After Illness In Indiana Political Record
Sim Coy a noted Indiana politician and colorful figure died from hemorrhage of the lungs after several weeks illness. He collapsed shortly after a doctor’s visit at 280 East Court Street and died within minutes. Born in Greensburg October 18 1851 he moved to Indianapolis as a youth and built a career in business and politics, rising to Democratic county chairman and council member. His career was shadowed by a tally sheet forgery case in 1885 for which he served time. he later returned to politics and business until illness bereavement and death. Body taken to Collier Murphy undertaking, burial planned at Spannave home of Col. B. C. Shaw. His son in Columbus notified.
