A young squaw Loneta aged 18 bore twins Sunday and was condemned with her babies despite her husband s plea. The twins and mother were killed and Lonsta was sealed in her shack as the blaze consumed the scene.
Mrs Lucy Williams of Lexington Kentucky loses her son to diphtheria in Cincinnati as law bars shipping a contagious body. Undertaker Fitzhugh sought a loophole while Dr Hays warned of disease spread. A hearse overland to Kentucky was rejected. the family buried the child at Crown Hill on Christmas Day amid grief and frustration.
