Gas option in costly hurry ties city to plant sale
Citizens' Gas Company pays 100 for an option on purchasing the Consumers' Gas Trust plant, contingent on a U S Court of Appeals ruling. Potts paid 21 to secure the title option. Mayor Holtzman signaled support while City Attorney Warrum remained guarded. If the court reverses Judge Baker, the option could be worth more than two thousand dollars to the city and the involved parties claim the move was swift and urged by the board. James T. Lynn of Detroit, president of the National Gas Electric Power company, doubted Indianapolis could profit from gas at six cents.
