In the Wagner murder trial, crowded courtroom and fashionably late spectators filled Thursday session. Drs. Reyer and Hisenbeiss testified on arsenic poisoning and toxine symptoms, with cross examinations revealing details of Mamie and Frank Koesters deaths.
At the state house a pug owned by Mrs Tim Griffin and her daughters meets a fatal end after being confined in a basement tub fed a drink by the custodian’s son. The dog escapes to the landing where the custodian strikes it dead with a hammer. The animal is laid to rest in an unused room ahead of a funeral service.
The senate adjourns to Monday as Voorhees introduces a bill to coin silver dollars from seigniorage profits and retire small gold and paper denominations. Coinage not less than $2,000,000 monthly. treasury to buy $2,000,000 in silver bullion when seignorage is coined.
The city parks committee met at the Board of Trade on Thursday morning to consider steps for finalizing a Fall Creek park plot from Michigan Street to Schofield's Mill. The secretary was to consult the Board of Public Works to authorize city engineer assistance. A separate committee approved printing 20,000 promotional circulars to highlight city advantages, to be distributed by local merchants.
Fresno California December 14 The jury in the Chris Evans murder case involving United States Deputy marshals Wilson and McGinnis at Sampson's Flat failed to reach a verdict Thursday morning.

Michael Ezekiel 46, a well known Hebrew, killed himself at his home 131 N Hast st shortly before midnight Wednesday. Facing paresis and no hope of recovery, he first attempted to cut his throat with a dull razor, then used a revolver while in a closet. His wife found him nude and lifeless, the room orderly, as he had arranged his clothes and even wound his watch. He leaves a 13 year old son and infant daughter, a brother in law of Kahn the tailor, and was member of the Americas club. Burial is planned Friday at 2 o'clock.
A federal grand jury will return seven indictments in the Indianapolis National Bank cases, possibly Monday or Tuesday. The filings reportedly total over a thousand pages with many counts, including at least two indictments with 50 counts each.
