About 3 a.m. Tuesday a blaze broke out in a shed owned by the Indianapolis water company near the pumping station at Washington and Geisendorf streets. The fire consumed the shed horse and buggy and a warehouse area, threatening Merritt woolen mill next door. Loss maybe $1,000 with automatic sprinklers preventing a larger blaze. Tramps suspected as starters as mill firemen fought the flames. The exact loss could not be determined Tuesday morning.
