Harry J. Sherer killed Albert Hester a well known burglar and ex convict at 10 30 p m while Mrs Sherer prayed and heard a prowler tampering with the house the husband ran to the door and fired four shots Hester is described as colored ex convict victim and intruder in the report.
A shooting near 806 Torbet street ends in the death of Albert Tester, a 29 year old with a criminal past. Sherer fires four shots from his home after a prowler is seen. tester dies minutes later. Sherer and a relative surrender. no arrest follows. Police defend vigilantism while neighbors report a pattern of night prowlers and prior burglaries by Hester.
Reports to the Order of railway telegraphers say the Santa Fe strike is now most effective, with operators confident of victory. President Ripley predicts vacancies will be filled and the road back to normal soon, and he states the road will not arbitrate.
In St Louis December 1 a strike bulletin says Santa Fe freight traffic in the far west is paralyzed and passenger trains run nearly empty with no end to strikers. Chas Sanders was arrested Monday evening charged with running a policy game at his barber shop 137 E Washington St Jasper Ware William Johnson and Sam Cohn were also arrested. The men were in the Kentucky state and Irankfort game. Sanders is an agent for large games. He was pulled ten days ago and locked up with others for gambling. He blames Bill Nissel for his arrest saying Bill is sore because he changed games
Thomas Fern and John Moran labeled uncouth travelers were each fined 150 dollars by Judge Daly after detectives found two large revolvers and burglar tools on them. They failed to prove travel rights and offered no credible travel account.

The oldest include William Swanson master mechanic 72 with over 40 years, John Elmer yard clerk 72 with about 40 years, and Nat Hardy a crossing watchman. Any employee reaching 65 may retire.
