Mrs John Stilker aged 25 of 2916 Brookside ave died Thursday night from burns after a gasoline explosion Wednesday afternoon. She was preparing dinner when gasoline flame ignited her clothing, neighbors extinguished the blaze, she inhaled fumes and lingered until 7 p m. Burial planned in Philadelphia Ind. by Undertaker Kregelo.
Tensions rise in ward 1 as anti saloon activists circulate a power of attorney appointing one man to oppose all liquor license remonstrances. Howard Place M E church members lead signatures with many women involved. About 50 saloons could be affected by renewals and new applications. a majority may authorize the remonstrance.
A temporary fare change on College Avenue during track relaying causes two fares for trips north and south. Elbert B. Peck of the street car company says transfers would enable long rides for a single fare, and the extra charge ends when repairs finish within a week.
Emma Bankhart 35 killed her mother with a hatchet at a southern Coyington farm. She then attacked sister Dora, set the house on fire, and leaped into the well where her body was later found. In Bluefield West Virginia on August 29 a mob attacked Sagamore colliery workers. Blacksmith John Ruble was killed and guard Barney Shumate fired back with a Winchester. Tur key Gap and Sagamore president W H McQuall survived a shot through his office window as guards flood the field. Nonunion workers fear to work amid high excitement.
Vermont dispatch reports evangelist Sam Small collapsed during a Brattleboro talk and admitted intoxication his second day in the state. In Morrisville he again faltered after about 15 minutes prompting a curtain to drop and doctors to say morphine overdose ended his public speaking career.

The couple had been seen on a curb at Massachusetts ave and Alabama st while chatting with his wife. Two bicycle officers Trimpe and Lowe made the arrest after the complaint was filed.
