Benjamin Johnson twenty three year old night clerk at the Panhandle freight house attempted to shoot Miss Katherine Maurney at 315 N Capitol Ave after being told to stop calling on her. He shot himself instead, the bullet lodged below the breastbone and not fatal. Johnson drank heavily that day and had showed a revolver stating it contained five loads. He is now at City Hospital with non fatal injuries.
