In a rear alley near 300 Kantucy are at 8 o'clock Sunday night a drunken mob attacked a young woman as she passed. Mr Wilson intervened and the crowd threatened him. A large man threw a stone striking Mrs Wilson in the head. She, 26, suffered a frightful head wound but survived. neighbors denounce gangs and call for police, who are rarely visible after dark.
Residents not yet receiving natural gas urged adoption of a meter system at a rousing Saturday night session in the criminal courtroom. A ward representative committee will present the amendment to the council, arguing meters lower costs, while opponents warn of potential trust benefits and higher overall charges.
Reports from Sparta Kentucky and Ada Minnesota describe wrecks and a sleeper fire on August 11.
