She is charged with cruelly beating Dona belle Monroe, two, at Indianapolis Day Nursery on W Vermont St. If bond is posted she stays jailed until next Wednesday when her case is to be heard. Barlow sought reform and worked a month at the nursery. her own baby was kept there. She denies striking the child.
Farmers living near the Indianapolis Speedway crowded before county commissioners on Wednesday to protest granting a retail liquor license to P. T. Andrews for selling intoxicants on the speedway grounds. The board planned to decide the case on Friday or Saturday, and observers believed the protests would persuade the commissioners to refuse the license.
