Bruain Aug 3 A terrific explosion occurred on the German ironclad Baden at Kiel when a grenade, recently removed from the magazine, detonated. Lieuts Oelsener and Zembsch seven seamen were killed and 17 wounded. the ship wrecked, Baden 6600 tons with eight guns and ten inch waterline armor.

The real name is Sileanor Mullen, who remains in the reform school as her mother seeks habeas corpus relief with attorney Everetts claiming improper commitment and unlawful detention. The case names Indiana reform school for girls and matron Sarah Keeley. the suit argues the mayor lacked authority or the sentence expired. The prisoner was 15 at commitment. decision pending.

A suit for 3700 was filed Thursday against Mollie C. Rugh Jacob T. Rugh Helena Ittenbach W W Hubbard Josephine B Hubbard the Women’s Christian Temperance Union R B Coyle and Bridget E B Coyle. The complaint alleges Mollie C Rugh and Jacob Rugh in May 1890 issued a 600 note payable in three years to Helena Ittenbach and mortgaged property to her to secure it which was assigned to the plaintiff. The other defendants claim some title to the property. Satolli remarks on America and a report of a possible coadjutor to Archbishop Corrigan are noted. Also: gold withdrawals in London and a horse named Nancy Hanks recorded with a track time of 2 12.
