The Bradford express thief was exposed by sealing wax left on a small satchel. John Dickson recounts a 600 dollar loss from a New Castle to Bradford transfer via express. The Bradford agent confessed after a later inquiry and Dickson recovered part of the money.
A company detective recovered $500 hidden in a satchel after a theft. The culprit sealed part of the package with sealing wax identical to the satchel’s wax. He confessed, returned the money, and Mr. Dickson donated half of the recovered sum to a New Orleans religious institution.
Minneap olis April 4 Three years after Poole of Wabasha county was jailed for a duel with Strickland he is freed. He travels with Anna May Wyatt to Oronoco and marries at a hotel after posing as husband and wife. The elopement prompts a furious father and a pursuing posse. They flee toward Milwaukee and Chicago.
