Special to The Sun Kokomo Indiana April 7 report of the most serious street car accident in Kokomo history. A car fell over a 12 foot embankment at City Park crushing victims and injuring several. Names of injured and deceased appear in the dispatch with local officials cautioning on the aftermath.
Deposed leader John Dowie vows vengeance from the Mexican border toward Zion City, claiming he will be in command within a week. In a Pullman car Dawie denies charges from his wife, son, and overseers while denouncing his critics and their methods amid turbulent public upheaval.
A streetcar plummeted down a 12 foot embankment at City park after derailing on a curve. Architect J P Bruff died, crushed beyond recognition, ring on a finger the only ID. Frank Hudgins gravely injured. Motorman Charles Perry Conductor Jamies Hogers David Young and M Gerard injured but expected to recover. The car No 7, nicknamed the hoody car, was on the focal street line. The accident disrupted service and recalled the era of George Ade and Edward McCutcheon at Purdue University.
Queen Margherita of Italy plans a summer visit to the United States. The arrival date is not set. She was widow of King Humbert, slain by anarchists, and mother of King Victor.

At Hot Springs Arkansas on April 7 authorities closed the gambling dens after Acting Prosecutor Scroggins ordered all gambling stopped. Gov. Davin pledged state militia support if needed to keep them shut.
The late Mrs Lydia A Weaver bequeaths her Acton real estate to her husband Charles C Weaver during his life with the property to pass at his death to their children J Lee Frank M Maud EB and Edward A Weaver. The arrangement preserves ownership within the Weaver family across generations.
John Hemaworth a 14 year old from 1226 Belmont Avenue won the amateur prize Friday night at the Empire Theater. Five contestants competed with Hemaworth performing a dancing specialty.
Gov Frank Hanly refuses parole to David E. Sherrick former state auditor pending appeal. Sherrick must remain in prison as the Indiana Supreme Court reviews his sentence. Citizens urged mercy but the governor’s ruling stands, signaling no interference with court action.

They favored a temporary detention facility over buying or building, citing the $435 appropriation for juvenile court expenses this year as limiting. Further action slated for a later meeting.
