Born in Wittenberg Germany he came to the U S with his parents in the early fifties. He enlisted in the Sixty third Indiana at the start of the Civil War and served with Sherman’s troopers. He was a member of Geo. n. Thomas post No 17 6 A R and the union veteran legion under whose auspices the funeral was held Tuesday afternoon.
